BHL BANK- Wealth Management is committed to protecting the personal information of its clients. This policy explains the practices for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information with respect to our customers, as well as the measures adopted to ensure that it is treated properly.
The policies and practices that we have put in place have been developed based on their compliance with the principles set out in the Federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act and with any other corresponding provincial law and standard on protection of personal information.
"Personal information" means any information that identifies you, including your name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, fax number or other information that may be used to communicate with you as well as information of a financial nature. relating to you or your spouse, information relating to your occupation and that of your spouse as well as information concerning your credit and your investment instructions.
The FGFGP's policies and practices regarding the protection of your personal information are governed by the following principles:
1 - We are responsible to our customers
We are responsible for all personal information under our management, including all information entrusted to a third party for processing, storage or otherwise. We have developed and implemented specific policies and procedures to ensure the protection of personal information, including the appointment of a person responsible for the protection of personal information.
All our employees have adhered, as a condition of employment, to a code of ethics, one of the fundamental principles of which is to maintain the confidentiality, security and privacy of information in each client's files. Also, on an ongoing basis, we make sure that our staff receive training and are regularly informed of changes made and the firm's procedures concerning the management and protection of personal information.
2 - We inform you of the purposes for which the information is collected
To open an account with the FGFGP, your investment advisor must obtain certain personal information in order to comply with legal and regulatory requirements. Your file can thus contain your degree of investment experience, your annual income, your profession and your social insurance number.
Before or when collecting personal information about you, we tell you what it is for. We set out the reasons why the FGFGP collects, uses and discloses your personal information in the account opening documentation that you receive when you first become a client of the FGFGP.
3 - We obtain your consent for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information
When opening an account with the FGFGP, by signing the Agreements and acknowledgments form attached to the Terms and conditions relating to accounts document, you certify that you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of personal information such as: provided under the heading Collection, use and disclosure of personal information.
You can refuse the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information. You can also withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contract restrictions and reasonable notice. In many cases, the collection, use and disclosure of personal information is necessary for the management or administration of your accounts or for the provision of ongoing services in relation to your account. In these circumstances, we may be forced to close your account or stop offering you a product or service.
4 - We limit the collection of your personal information
We obtain personal information about you to the extent permitted by law. For example, we collect personal information about you in connection with the opening or administration of your account (s). Most of this is information that you or your investment advisor provided when you completed the relevant documentation required to open or maintain an account with FGFGP.
5 - We limit the use, communication and retention of your personal information
The FGFGP uses your personal information to the extent that the law allows it. Specifically, the FGFGP uses your personal information for the purposes described in the document Terms and conditions relating to accounts.
We may pass on the personal information we obtain about you to third parties, in particular in the following cases:

we have obtained your consent for this;

We transmit your personal information to any other organization, including credit agencies, sureties or other third parties with which the FGFGP maintains business relations, for the purposes described in the document Your relationship with National Bank Financial.

a securities authority or other regulatory body has required it;

we are required or permitted by law to do so.

We only keep records of your personal information for as long as it is required for our business relationships, in accordance with our internal document retention policies or legal and regulatory standards. These files will be kept at the branch of the FBNGP with which you normally do business, at the Compliance Department of the FGFGP or at our service providers.
Strict procedures for the retention of your personal information are applied and we will eliminate the personal information which FGFGP no longer needs for the specified purposes.
6 - We keep your personal information accurate and up to date
We take all reasonable steps to keep your information accurate, complete and up to date. You may at any time, in writing, request access to or examine your personal information held by the FGFGP to verify that it is correct and complete and to correct it if necessary, to the extent that the law allows it. To access your personal information, to correct personal information, to submit a request for information or to file a complaint, please contact your investment advisor.
7 - The security of your personal information is a priority for the FBNGP
We apply very strict security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, regardless of the format in which we hold it. We strive to adapt our security measures to technological advances.
Protection methods include:

This policy and all other related information are available at all times on our website or upon request from our Privacy Officer.
9 - We give you access to personal information about you kept at the FGFGP
When you request it in writing, we will inform you within 30 days of the existence of personal information that we have in our files or under our control, the use that is made of it and the fact that it are communicated to third parties, and allow you to consult them, as far as the law allows.
10 - We answer your questions and concerns regarding the protection of personal information
The FGFGP responds promptly and accurately to all your questions and concerns regarding the confidentiality and security of your personal information and our policies and procedures for the protection of personal information.
